About Joan
Joan Crawford has a bachelor's degree in gerontology and
lifelong interest in the field of aging.
As a recruiter, trainer, and
supervisor of volunteers working in convalescent hospitals
and retirement communities, she developed early on an understanding
of the need for physical, psychological, and social support
throughout one's lifetime.
As a community outreach resource
manager for a non-profit senior retirement community, she
recognized further the extent to which older people need
such services.
As the manager of a busy home
care agency she emphasized the importance of making careful
and thorough assessments of the care needs for the frail
elderly. She also appreciates the older adult's need for
thrift in money management and financial planning.
As a case manager for seniors
in the community as a case manager for low income seniors
in the community a better understanding of the many hurdles
the frail and elderly experience. Finding resources and
programs is a maze that is difficult enough for the strong
and healthy to maneuver, much less the frail, frightened
and vulnerable to access and obtain services.
These qualifications and broad
experience in providing services to both the affluent and
poor have enabled her to excel in providing these much needed
services to older adults for over twenty years.
Her comprehensive consulting
skills with clients, care providers, and family members,
enable her to reduce the anxiety of trying situations and
to ease for everyone the process of making care arrangements
for an aging loved one.
